- This flute is 22 3/4 inches long with a 7/8 inch bore and just under 2 1/2 inches wide. The distance from the mouth end of the flute to the first finger hole is approximately 10 1/2 inches. The fingering holes are about 1 inch apart center to center.
Stellar Drone or "double" flutes are handmade out of western red cedar with a contrasting wood spline down the middle. They feature two blowholes so you can play them as a single or a double flute, and an optional drone side hole with a decorative plug so you can choose between two notes for the drone.
Drone flutes are a little harder to play because they are wider and take more air but most people can learn to play them with a little practice.
