Description
Technical Specs
This stunning, special edition G Drone is made out of western red cedar that has had an iron stain applied to blacken the wood. It features low profile blocks and matching hole plug made from birdseye maple, walnut, alaskan cedar and purple heart. It's voice is smooth and meditative.
This Drone has the fingering holes on the left side of the flute and optional drone hole on the right making it easier to play with the right hand on the bottom (often the way right handed people play the flute).
Stellar Drone or "double" flutes are handmade out of western red cedar with a contrasting wood spline down the middle. They feature two blowholes so you can play them as a single or a double flute, and an optional drone side hole with a decorative plug so you can choose between two notes for the drone.
Drone flutes are a little harder to play because they are wider and take more air but most people can learn to play them with a little practice.
This flute is 22 3/4 inches long with a 7/8 inch bore and just under 2 1/2 inches wide. The distance from the mouth end of the flute to the first finger hole is approximately 10 1/2 inches. The fingering holes are about 1 inch apart center to center.
