Stellar Drone Flutes
(Also known as Dual or Double Flutes)

This style of Flute plays chords! Drones are two separate flutes that can be played together. One side, usually the left, plays one, two or even three "drone" notes. These notes harmonize with the tones played on the other side. The six holes on the right side of the flute are played like any six hole Native flute.

All  of our drones have the finger holes on the right side We can make left-handed drones on request.

Our drones all come with a single hole on the left side to raise the pitch or lower the pitch of the drone note. every drone comes with a button to plug this hole.

 

#014 Douglas Fir hi C#

This drone is made from Douglas fir with a walnut and white ash spline. The endcap is made from ebony, and a very beautiful piece of spalted alder. This drone has a loud cheerful voice. It would make a great first drone because it is very small and easy to play.
