Tom founded Stellar in 1995
when by a wonderful series of events he was
introduced to the Native American Flute. The
experience of making flutes, honing techniques,
and creatively adding to the flute- making
technology has been an engaging, arduous, and
fulfilling task. It has come closer than
anything ever has to tapping Tom's talents and
energies to their fullest. His focus is true and
he loves his work.
Matt is " Stellar, the next
generation." Matt puts a constantly
changing face on our flutes. His inventive mind
has led to many important technical
break-throughs. He is also our totem
carver. Together Tom and Matt make a hardworking
knowledgeable, and dynamic team. Matt is married
to Rebecca and lives and works in Edmonds,
Washington.
Tom knows he is lucky to have a son who loves
flute making.
Lily is a versatile
craftsperson involved in many parts of
flute-making. She is now the primary flute
decorator, and has taken that art to a whole
new level. Her original block prints are used
throughout our literature, on our DVD label and
on our flute bags.
Erika maintains the
website, writes all the printed material,
handles the email, does shipping, ordering, and
helps to coordinates everyone's efforts.
WHERE IT HAPPENS
Tom and Erika live and work on Phillips
Lake, a small and pretty western Washington
lake. Our surroundings are inspiring and we try
to remember to take time every day to enjoy
them.
Matt lives and works in Edmonds Washington with
his wonderful wife, Rebecca.
Lily lives in Olympia, Washington and loves it.
*Gordon
Jefferson, who is a hard-working perfectionist,*
now does many of the fundamental flute-making
steps.
Tom McNeilley is our eagle-eyed
bird man
Jun Alexander is our flute bag maker
Stellar Flutes have welcomed people into this
world and shepherded them into the next.
They have helped people through the loss of
loved ones, taken the anger out of divorce,
assisted in healing the injured. They have
calmed the incarcerated, and given direction to
the lost. Nothing could make us happier.
